Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is one of Netflix’s many original productions. The show has three seasons, and boasts an impressive rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars, according to Common Sense Media. The show premiered in March of 2016 and has been renewed for a fourth season, which is scheduled to air on Netflix in early 2018.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt details the adventures of the title character, played by actress Ellie Kemper. Kimmy was held captive with three other women in an underground bunker for 15 years by a doomsday cult leader. Season one picks up directly following Kimmy’s rescue from the bunker and follows her as she makes a new life for herself in New York City. The show features a hilarious cast of characters including a failed actor roommate, a drug dealer landlady, and a filthy rich employer. Seasons two and three follow Kimmy as she continues to learn about society, build relationships, and come to terms with what happened in the bunker.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt had me hooked from the very first episode. I binged all three seasons as soon as they were released, and have shared this show with many friends. This is a fabulous show for anyone who needs something lighthearted and humorous to watch. The episodes are around 25 minutes each, which makes it very easy to fit into a busy schedule. I recommend this show to everyone, because it has something for viewers of all age groups.

I give Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt 5/5 stars because it always has me crying from laughter.
